"I could be wrong." This entire site could be wrong as to what it means to be a pinoy dev. I would be basing too much on my own experience, and from others I had the privilege of working with, to come up with all this info. You don't have to. In the same way, I, nor this site, am not responsible for any mistakes you make from these information. Caveat emptor. A typical "trust me, bro", but I hope something more significant than that.

With that out of the way, let's go ahead to the next thing.

This page is dedicated to what is expected of you. It is basically a long-winded "are you sure?" agreement.

What is pinoy.dev?

It could be this site. It could be me. It could be a body of knowledge on how to be a pinoy developer. It could be you.

First lesson: learn to put a name to things. A lot of things are variables — we know a lot of things that we know we do not know. But name them — it gives you an anchor (an id , if you will) to work on.

Naming the things that are unknown to you is an underrated skill that when not practiced, leaves you frozen. ⛄

So all this and all the things that will be written here? I call it pinoy.dev, and that could still change.

The Basics

Deciding who you are

Are you a Filipino? Are you stuck at a job you don't want? Are you doing nothing with your career? Literally, what are you doing? Do you like it? What are you?

Deciding who you will be

Do you want to be a developer? A software engineer? A coder? A solutions architect? A software engineer? A pinoy of technology? What is "technology"? What is a pinoy?

I'm sorry that in the span of a couple paragraphs, I already gave you some homework. 😅

Geez, I just want to learn to code. Why philosophize this?
